Where can I buy used textbooks for college?

I am NOT about to buy new books. Also, I won't be getting them from amazon or ebay since they probably will be very expensive there.

Are there any sites you can recommend where I can buy some used textbooks? Would my college bookstore be trustworthy?Where can I buy used textbooks for college?
Hey there man.

I put together a website that has 4 different strategies of getting free textbooks or very very cheap textbooks.

1. Search for an online version of book

2. Use the library to read your textbook

3. Use third party vendors

4. Use your camera.

I go into these methods in more detail on this website

Just read any of the four methods, I guarantee you that one of these methods will save you the MOST money.

Goodluck
I would suggest using GreenTextbooks.org

first post is correct, halfpricebooks.com, which there are actual stores all over, especially in college towns, is the best place. I got my political science book for $3 there (I saw it again there the other day for $1) when it was $80 USED at a local bookstore!! Plus, my math book was only about $20 as opposed to $230 new and $170 used!

There are other sites of course that are fairly good. Look around for bookstores associated with your school, they will be able to find exactly what you need, but they wont be as good as half price books.
I refuse to buy new textbooks as well. I always use either the campus bookstore or amazon. You can buy used books both places. I know you said no amazon, but really you can get good prices. My only piece of advice for buying on a site like amazon is to make sure you are buying from the same person/place or else it will be expensive.
I always use http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online textbook retailers including the rental sites like chegg to find you the best price. You can even use them at the end of the semester to search for resellers that want to buy your book. It's pretty cool actually.

Hope this was of help.
The best place to get cheap books ever! I always got my books from here and it's perfectly trustworthy, you will find the prices WAY better. =)
