How can I get rid of old textbooks that are 5-7 years old and are therefore not able to be sold?

I live in the Philadelphia area and I want to get rid of some old textbooks that won't get a sniff on ebay because they are too old. Does anybody know of charities or organizations that can take these books? I would prefer not to throw these books away, but if it comes to that I might have to.

All my books are science texts, like Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc. and are still useful but not useful to me unfortunately. How can I get rid of old textbooks that are 5-7 years old and are therefore not able to be sold?

Try looking for a used bookstore in your yellow pages. They would be happy to take them off your hands...perhaps even give you some credit to get some other books! If all else fails, donate them to the library.
Take them to a recycling center.
Donate them to the library or to an inner city school.
You can try calling the Schools around were you live to see if they will take them,lf not l know some schools in Toronto Ontario that will take them,lf you like you Email me back and I'll pass on were to send them....Thank you Dolittleboo

Since you are convinced they are too old to be sold - why don't you take them to a recycler? they would pay a few quid for them or better still, you get loads of thanks from them
Put them into paper recycle bin, not general trash.
