Will there be any problems If I go without the textbooks on the first day of the college?

I don't know the rules and I don't wanna buy the books now. How is the process ? I mean , do professors tell you what to bring on the first day or they just start teaching the first day without telling anything about the notebooks or textbooks ?Will there be any problems If I go without the textbooks on the first day of the college?
Well most people don't have them the first day, after what the professor says, people either rush to the college bookstore or go to their dorm.
At-least that's what I've noticed. They normally won't jump right into teaching they'll most likely introduce themselves and give you a syllabus and tell you what they expect.
Only a few classes I've took actually require the text book for in class, most of the time its for work done out of class. Most of the time they just lecture and your expected to write down notes etc, and then the occasional quiz thrown in.
At my school there were always reading assignments for the first class, so you needed to have the textbook. Professors absolutely expected you to be prepared. However as you can tell from the responses above this varies from school to school, so the best thing to do is check with upperclassmen at your school.

All school bookstores are required by law to list the required texts on the website. If you want to purchase books in advance you can do so.Will there be any problems If I go without the textbooks on the first day of the college?
If you wait the book store may run out of textbooks for some of your classes. You may have to wait a couple of weeks for new books or for people to drop out and sell back their books. The school library should have copies of textbooks, but those will be hard to find as you won't be the only one without the book on the first day of class. Will there be any problems If I go without the textbooks on the first day of the college?
It depends on the way the college and the individual instructors operate. If you have a book/reading list prior to the first class then you are expected to have the major text(s) at hand. Sometimes you receive the list you need to purchase as part of the first class.
the course has indicated the text that will be used and usually it is expected you will have the text for the first class

there may be an assignment that first day and without the text you are already behind
