Do school districts still require kids to use covers on textbooks?

It's been a LOOOOOOOONG time since I've been in school, so I don't know - are kids in school still required to put covers on their textbooks?

Any and all responses appreciated; thanks!Do school districts still require kids to use covers on textbooks?
Yep. They required everyone at my school to cover their books this year. It's been like that, for me, since... 5th grade. I'm in 10th grade now.

Schools with tons of funding usually don't, since they replace their books each year. Schools in districts with lower tax revenue, or very frugal school boards/ policy, will require book covers because they will keep the books for several years.

When I was in high school, I had a Latin book that was 12 years old, and my English book was 15!!! We had to sign our names in the front cover and my friend's oldest sister (who was out of school and married) was the 2nd name in the list!!!Do school districts still require kids to use covers on textbooks?
I don't require my students to cover their books, but I expect them to be in good condition when they are returned to me.
