Can you get away with downloading your textbooks in College?

Ok, I'm asking if one can download their neccesary textbooks via torrent or eBook store or etc.

And use them in class, using a small netbook.

It'd be like, everyone pulls out a heaping book everyday, and you pull out your netbook, and open a PDF.

Would the professor object to someone using their textbooks inclass on a netbook or an iPad or some other small computer?

Thanks in Advance. :)Can you get away with downloading your textbooks in College?
Generally, professors don't even really care if you have an e-book or not , but if they do have a problem they will often left you know at the beginning of class. If you're unsure, just ask the professor. Just make sure you can access your e-book in class (so if you have an online subscription instead of a downloaded version, make sure you'll have internet access in class). And as long as you can get your assignments done, it shouldn't be a problem. I would talk to the instructor. Some get really upset when you use any kind of electronics in their class. I hope they let you since you pretty much pay their salary they kinda work for you.
