When do you start using your textbooks?

Hello, I am starting college next week and I have not purchased my books and I wont be doing so until later next month. Would I be terribly behind? When do you typically start using your textbooks in college classes? When do you start using your textbooks?
It differs for different professors, some start using it in the first class, while some may be a few weeks later. If you cannot get the textbooks early, just try to communicate with some classmates beforehand and share with them during class. It should be okay if it is only a short time.

BTW, have you checked Amazon for used books? They can be more affordable. I bought all my textbooks there, including used books at a cheaper price, together with new books. You may want to look for them early or there will be less and less choice for used books there:

Yes, you could be terribly behind. Most college classes begin using their textbooks the first day or shortly thereafter. Why did you think you could go for weeks without using your textbooks? This is college, not high school. See if you can share with a friend or check the college library and see if they have copies of the textbooks available. When do you start using your textbooks?
it dependson the course, and the prof.

I gather class hasn't met yet? In most undergrad courses, you'll find out the first day when you need your books. Sometimes youb can put some off, but you often need one or two fairly early on.

Make friends early on, and find someone you can share a book with until you can get yours. When do you start using your textbooks?
I assign readings on the first day and I expect my students to be prepared for the next meeting. Not all profs do this, some will tell you when to have them, and some wait until after the drop period to start.

I suggest that you pay attention on the first day of class, and act accordingly.
