How do you remove the "Used" sticker on textbooks?

Does anyone know a technique on how to remove the "Used" stiker on college textbooks. For hard back and paper back textbooks without damaging the cover. How do you remove the "Used" sticker on textbooks?
Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove. When it starts to boil rapidly, turn down the flame a bit.

Be sure to protect your hands with something, oven mitts are ideal or thick hand towels, place the textbook over the steam, making sure you expose the 'Used' sticker to the direct steam for several minutes. Once the steam has dissapated, try to carefully nudge it off with your fingernail, just a little bit at a time.

If it is still stuck, repeat the above procedure until the sticker glue has melted enough... I have never tried this on a softcover book, but it works well for hardcover books.

They make a thing called GOO GONE, you can get it at most dollar stores.

Or you can try liquid fabric softener mixed with warm-hot water, dip a Q-tip in it and slowly soak the label and peel it back. This removes the sticky stuff underneath and allows you to remove it.How do you remove the "Used" sticker on textbooks?
Why bother , just print over the u with a w , no one will be the wiser , who thinks anything of a "Wsed" book :))
Take a cotton ball and soak it in alcohol, then rub the sticker until moist. If you rub gently it should not damage the text book and the sticker adhesive will come off bringing the sticker with it. The reason alcohol works is because it will evaporate quickly enough not to put moisture damage on the cover and it breaks down the glue on the back of the sticker. But your in college you should know this!..*lol* JUST KIDDING!
haha...what scam are you tryna pull?
alcohol swabs or just put some on a paper towel let it soak for a min and the rub it off
Peel off what you can, then rub Goo Gone on a washcloth and scrub the rest off.
You can use a blowdryer. It heats up the glue and makes it easier to remove.
A fingernail if fairly effective, paint thinner for tough ones.
goo-gone!
very carefully
Take a washcloth and run it under hot water. Squeeze excess water out and hold on sticker for a few minutes. Repeat until sticker is easy to remove.
Goo gone!
Use a hair dryer, blow at a distance on the sticker and peel it off slowly.
carefully lift an edge with a fingernail or razor blade or something, GENTLY peel of as much of the label as you can this way...for any stubborn parts, get yourself a bottle of goo gone %26amp; follow the directions...should work well for hardcover...don't know if i'd try it on paperbacks, though.
