What is the best way to write notes from textbooks and lectures? I'm trying to become more organized with my school work and was wondering if anyone had any special ways of taking notes that helped them go back later and study them for tests and quizzes! If you could maybe even make a small chart in your comment on what it may look like that will be GREATLY appreciated!

Create a glossary of key terms and place them on Q cards. When it comes to studying for exams or tests. It will be easier reading information from a Q card rather than from a textbook consisting of 300-400 pages of clutter. When it comes to lectures, If you are unsure of a word the teacher is saying, Carry a dictionary or thesaurus with you and use a different word which means the same thing. It will help you understand more clearly. Worked for me :)

Preview: read titles/subtitles,skim the chapter or the summary of the lecture (if available).

Question: Ask what content is covered and what you're getting from it.

Read: Read the text but think about the material, and try to answer the aforementioned questions.

Reflect: Think of your own examples while reading, link the information to what you've already learnt about the subject.

Recite: Repeat the important points at the end of each section, or summarise the info to a friend or study partner.

Review: At the end of the chapter, review the material in your own words. Try to understand how each section is organised, and then the info will be easier to remember.What is the best way to write notes from textbooks and lectures?
Ok nice effort. I suggest you that you should write main and important points of lectures and from textbooks. Then prepare it according to your way. This one is the best method that i use. I hope that you will find it best. Take care.
