What are some old fashioned textbooks for these subjects that are still good?

Maybe even better than the textbooks used today? Hopefully for the Australian curriculum.



The subjects are: Mathematics, Standard English, Science, Music, Visual Arts, Technology, Italian, Religion (Catholic), World History, Australian Geography and Personal development health and physical education.



Probably Year 8 - 9 in particular.

For English try "New First Aid in English" by Angus McIver. It's widely available and I've been using it for ages. Lots of examples and lots of exercises. It's like the books I learned from many years ago.What are some old fashioned textbooks for these subjects that are still good?
