Should I file my textbooks on my lower shelf or stack them on the higher shelf?

In my locker, my binders are filed together on a low shelf and the top shelf is free. Where should I put my textbooks? Filed by the binders or stacked on the high shelf?Should I file my textbooks on my lower shelf or stack them on the higher shelf?
since the high shelf is free, might as well file them on the high shelf .
