Not sure if it is helpful, but I'll recommend you to try looking for the textbooks on Amazon. I got all my textbooks there every year and it has saved me quite a lot of money. They give good discounts for most of the textbooks, there are more protection and money back guarantee there too. Here you can look for any textbook you want and check the price on Amazon:

There are literally hundreds of websites to buy cheap college textbooks at, and this is why searching online can be so daunting to many students. But this is why I always use http://www.bigwords.com to find my textbooks. They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online retailers and rental sites (including all those already mentioned here) to find you the best price. AND you can use them at the end of the semester to sell your books, for up to 75% of what you paid! It's pretty awesome.Where can I buy college textbooks for a cheap price?
You have 2 options I believe.

Option 1:

Check with you professor if he has an extra copy or just join friends to study with..

Option 2:

Compare prices across 50+ online bookstores before buying. using http://usedtextbookprices.com to see the cheapest prices for rental, used and international edition. Also check out previous edition.

I hope this helps good luck ..Enjoy
Chegg.com and bookrenter.com

you can rent or buy used/new books for very cheap. I rented all my books.

If I bought them off the site it would have costed me 700

I only paid 230

Good site. You should try them. Also compare prices on the 2 sites. 1 might have a book for a cheaper price.
You can ask the college bookstore if they have second hand books. It will be cheaper, if not, ask anyone with your majors if they have books that they do not need. In this case, it will be cheaper than the College bookstore second hand books.
