What is the best way to donate used textbooks?

I am trying to donate all the textbooks and other books I have accumulated from high school to college. I know I can drop them off at Goodwill or try to donate them online, but What would be the best way to put these dated, but still useful resources in the hands of those who can find better usage than I can?|||In our town there is a group/organization called "Friends of the Library." People donate books to them, and a couple times a year they have a huge sale in the conference center at the library. Actually, you can get as many books as you want and donate what you want.

Maybe your town has an organization like that.|||CHEGG!

|||Old textbooks are almost useless. Libraries don't want old books--people always think they do, but, as a librarian, believe me, they don't. And I doubt very much the Salvation Army will pick them up. I had a huge sofa once and I practically had to beg them to come and take it.

Or if you want to sell for money, i think you put it on ebay or something, if the books are worthy.

|||What a stupid question. Why make such a big deal out of something so insignificant. Either find students who can use the books or if you can't, sell them as paper.

|||Our library takes old books, but is very specific about NOT taking textbooks. There are organizations out there which collect old textbooks and take them to countries where there aren't enough textbooks for the students.
