I mean don't we speak English in this country. I mean why can't they learn the language, why must we adapt for them. We didn't do it for anyone else? Plus are schools are starpped for cash as it is, and all these resources going for spanish textbooks, is money that can be spent for education in teachers and quality standards. When are schools are strapped for money why would invest in Spanish textbooks?
The money IS BEING SPENT FOR EDUCATION.
People need to learn spanish. It's kinda a requirment to learn a second language. And just because English is the main language in this country doesn't mean EVERYONE wants to just stay with speaking only English.
At least your school isn't cutting back on paper and air conditioning just to spend it on piece of sh*ts id-card protectors that don't do anything. I'd rather get new books than new pieces of plastic to protect a card I never use.....

Where can I buy college textbooks for a cheap price?
I am trying to find some college textbooks for a decent price. All the books I find are at least 40 to 70 dollars. I dont have a whole lot to work with.Where can I buy college textbooks for a cheap price?
Not sure if it is helpful, but I'll recommend you to try looking for the textbooks on Amazon. I got all my textbooks there every year and it has saved me quite a lot of money. They give good discounts for most of the textbooks, there are more protection and money back guarantee there too. Here you can look for any textbook you want and check the price on Amazon:

There are literally hundreds of websites to buy cheap college textbooks at, and this is why searching online can be so daunting to many students. But this is why I always use http://www.bigwords.com to find my textbooks. They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online retailers and rental sites (including all those already mentioned here) to find you the best price. AND you can use them at the end of the semester to sell your books, for up to 75% of what you paid! It's pretty awesome.Where can I buy college textbooks for a cheap price?
You have 2 options I believe.
Option 1:
Check with you professor if he has an extra copy or just join friends to study with..
Option 2:
Compare prices across 50+ online bookstores before buying. using http://usedtextbookprices.com to see the cheapest prices for rental, used and international edition. Also check out previous edition.
I hope this helps good luck ..Enjoy
Chegg.com and bookrenter.com
you can rent or buy used/new books for very cheap. I rented all my books.
If I bought them off the site it would have costed me 700
I only paid 230
Good site. You should try them. Also compare prices on the 2 sites. 1 might have a book for a cheaper price.
You can ask the college bookstore if they have second hand books. It will be cheaper, if not, ask anyone with your majors if they have books that they do not need. In this case, it will be cheaper than the College bookstore second hand books.facebook layouts

Where can I buy English textbooks in Taiwan?
The prices in US are outrageous. Last year I bought some this little shop from across the street from Tai Da, near Gong Guang station.
Can someone tell me where else I can buy them in Taipei? Thank you.
If not, can you refer me to internet sites that sell English textbooks from Asia?
And by English textbooks, I mean for any subjects, not just textbooks about English.
Thank you.Where can I buy English textbooks in Taiwan?
Ok I did a search for you. You can check out the Elite bookstore in Taipei. There are a number of branches there, some of them in shopping centre. They also have a main branch that opens 24/7, so that speaks for itself, how big and comprehensive the catalog will be. I believe you will find all the books you want there.
You can read more on the forum, too much to copy ;)
Kindle e-books store at Amazon has a wide selection of affordable english text books on its site. You just need to invest in a bookreader, ideally a Kindle one. I use that myself for my reading. I love it because its just like a real book and it won't give you headaches, as it uses 'magnetic ink' rather than LED backlight display. And then you don't need to find space to hold large heavy books that you won't touch for many years- it stays on system and is backed up at your Amazon account.
Caves bookstore has a wide variety of English paper based books. I strongly recommend getting a reader, however. More variety of books is online now in English than you could ever find in a bookstore. The exception to this is if you want a color photo magazine- go to a real bookstore and get the print version. It probably is still a superior experience until the technology develops a bit more over the next few years. AND you can help save the forests in a meaningful way!Where can I buy English textbooks in Taiwan?

Where can I buy used textbooks for college?
I am NOT about to buy new books. Also, I won't be getting them from amazon or ebay since they probably will be very expensive there.
Are there any sites you can recommend where I can buy some used textbooks? Would my college bookstore be trustworthy?Where can I buy used textbooks for college?
Hey there man.
I put together a website that has 4 different strategies of getting free textbooks or very very cheap textbooks.
1. Search for an online version of book
2. Use the library to read your textbook
3. Use third party vendors
4. Use your camera.
I go into these methods in more detail on this website
http://www.universityninja.com/tutorial-鈥?/a>
Just read any of the four methods, I guarantee you that one of these methods will save you the MOST money.
Goodluck
I would suggest using GreenTextbooks.org
Save Money, Save The Planet
GreenTextbooks.org specializes in the recycling of textbooks, DVDs, CDs. http://www.GreenTextbooks.org
Great info I would also suggest using GreenTextbooks.com
Saving the Planet One Textbook at a Time
With GreenTextbooks.com you're not only saving trees, you are saving some green.
http://www.GreenTextbooks.com
You can also use http://www.TextbookAce.com
first post is correct, halfpricebooks.com, which there are actual stores all over, especially in college towns, is the best place. I got my political science book for $3 there (I saw it again there the other day for $1) when it was $80 USED at a local bookstore!! Plus, my math book was only about $20 as opposed to $230 new and $170 used!
There are other sites of course that are fairly good. Look around for bookstores associated with your school, they will be able to find exactly what you need, but they wont be as good as half price books.
I refuse to buy new textbooks as well. I always use either the campus bookstore or amazon. You can buy used books both places. I know you said no amazon, but really you can get good prices. My only piece of advice for buying on a site like amazon is to make sure you are buying from the same person/place or else it will be expensive.
I always use http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online textbook retailers including the rental sites like chegg to find you the best price. You can even use them at the end of the semester to search for resellers that want to buy your book. It's pretty cool actually.
Hope this was of help.
The best place to get cheap books ever! I always got my books from here and it's perfectly trustworthy, you will find the prices WAY better. =)

Is it convenient to buy textbooks in the form of eBook?
I'm starting college in the fall, and I have read a few articles saying how hard it is to find textbooks in the form of eBook. Should I stick with traditional hardcover, or make the jump to an eReader?
I know it is easier on the body when you don't have to carry around all those books. On the other hand, there's nothing like good old fashioned text on paper. I just want to know if it'll be a more convenient choice to buy them for an eReader. Is it convenient to buy textbooks in the form of eBook?
I do suggest the Kindle which has the best support on college textbooks. I've mentioned quite a lot about textbooks on the Amazon Kindle, in another answer here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
And here you can find textbooks for the Kindle. Do a search to see how many of your textbooks are available there:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i鈥?/a>
And you can consider the Kindle or the Kindle DX for reading your textbooks (the new Kindle DX Graphite version is now at cheaper price and with better contrast). Read this review and you should be able to decide which one to get:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i鈥?/a>
Hope this helps.
You should download your textbooks from http://www.GreenTextbooks.com
You do not need an e-reader to use e-textbooks. You can download them right to your laptop or get a subscription where you can access them wherever you can access the internet. You can find places to find e-books here: http://makecollegereality.com/succeed/ge鈥?/a>Is it convenient to buy textbooks in the form of eBook?
For your first your of college you should get textbooks then next year try the ebooks. I would like to let you know more about the college experience. Feel free to send me a message.

Where do they get the models who pose nude for medical anatomy textbooks?
In a lot of college-level medically related textbooks like anatomy and physiology, or biology, there are photos of naked models in various diagrams. They are usually in a standing position completely nude or in some other anatomical pose with lines with descriptions pointing to various parts of the body to help people learn about the anatomy. What are their job titles, or where do they get them? Are they professional models, or are they volunteers of some sort?Where do they get the models who pose nude for medical anatomy textbooks?
There are professional medical anatomical models, but if you a re thinking of this for a career, I wouldn't bother to pursue this. All you need to one model, and many of those pictures have been reproduced for decades. So the need and the ability to work is very tiny.Where do they get the models who pose nude for medical anatomy textbooks?
