How can my elementary school donate unwanted textbooks?

I am trying to do research on this idea so I can be fully educated before I present this idea to my principle. I would imagine she would want it to be a pick-up system. Please help! Our basement at school is FILLED with unwanted textbooks!!!!How can my elementary school donate unwanted textbooks?

If the books are not very current, you could donate them to the International books project in Lexington, KY. They send books overseas to developing countries. However, I do not think that they would pay to have the books shipped to them. You could hold a fundraiser to pay for the shipping.How can my elementary school donate unwanted textbooks?
